The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) through its Executive Director, Shaibu Husseini, has urged Nigerian digital platforms to support content creators through fair monetization, stronger intellectual-property protection and improved audience safety.
Speaking at the Lagos launch of Bebuzee, he encouraged stakeholders to embrace the Nigerian-owned platform and promote its expansion across Africa and beyond. Bebuzee founder and CEO Joseph Onyero said the app was created to bring social networking, video streaming, e-commerce, payments, property searches, food delivery, ride-hailing and professional services into one digital ecosystem.
He added that the platform seeks to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on fragmented digital services while creating new economic opportunities for African youths, filmmakers and other creatives. A central part of Bebuzee’s strategy, he said, is to improve how content creators are rewarded on digital platforms.
