The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has endorsed Sherifat Adegbenro as acting CEO of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) Plc, guaranteeing leadership continuity under industry governance codes until a permanent appointment.
Rising from deputy CEO and chief audit officer roles, Adegbenro replaces Wola Joseph-Condotti, who served as interim head since January. The change follows Transgrid Enerco’s N360 billion acquisition of a 60% stake in EKEDC on December 30, 2025—N180 billion paid in cash, the balance via bank guarantees. The consortium includes North-South Power (Shiroro Dam owners), Stanbic Infrastructure Fund, and Axxela.
