The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has equipped 900 young people in Enugu State with vital digital competencies in areas such as cybersecurity, data science, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship. NITDA’s Director-General, Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, shared this update while speaking to attendees at the on-going Enugu Tech Festival 2026 (ETF 2.0), which carries the theme “Coal to Code: Energy in New Form” and runs from February 24 to 27.
NITDA’s initiative supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda by fostering talent and boosting digital capabilities among youth for lasting empowerment. Mr. Kashifu Abdullahi, represented by NITDA’s Director of Stakeholder Management and Partnership, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, highlighted that 50 of these participants excelled through remarkable commitment, perseverance, and superior results.
Out of the trainees, the 50 that stood out for their dedication and excellence, received laptops as tools for innovation and community impact. The NITDA boss also emphasized that these devices symbolize empowerment and responsibility to drive solutions.
NITDA plans to offer more platforms like the Digital Nigeria Conference and GITEX Nigeria for youths to pitch ideas globally and secure funding.
