The Corporate Affairs Commission has launched a new service centre at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos to widen access to business registration and compliance services for micro, small and medium enterprises, reinforcing Nigeria’s drive to improve its ease of doing business.
In a statement released on Monday, the commission disclosed that the TBS office was formally commissioned the same day by its Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer, Hussaini Magaji (SAN). The new outlet is expected to bring core corporate services closer to entrepreneurs, supporting the Federal Government’s campaign to move more small businesses into the formal sector.
CAC noted that the initiative is part of broader government reforms aimed at expanding economic inclusion, enhancing the business climate and encouraging enterprises to operate within the regulated economy. It explained that the TBS facility has been strategically sited to bolster President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to deepen the formalization of small businesses nationwide.
According to the commission, the office is fully equipped to deliver seamless business registration, annual returns filing and other compliance services, allowing SMEs to complete corporate transactions more quickly and conveniently. CAC added that the expansion underscores its ongoing commitment to MSMEs, strengthens regulatory compliance and ensures that entrepreneurs have easier access to quality corporate services.
The opening of the Lagos service centre forms part of CAC’s continuing rollout of reforms and digital solutions intended to streamline business registration, cut bureaucratic delays and attract more enterprises into the formal sector, which remains vital to Nigeria’s economic growth and revenue mobilization.
