National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has warned the public about a fake recruitment advert being circulated online. The commission says the advertisement is false, misleading, and not issued or authorized by NAICOM. It stressed that it does not conduct recruitment through unverified online links or unofficial channels and that legitimate vacancies are announced only via its verified website, recognized federal government platforms, and reputable traditional media.
NAICOM has however urged vulnerable job seekers especially to ignore the fraudulent advert, avoid submitting personal information, and not pay any fees demanded by such portals. The regulator also cautioned that any site asking for upfront processing fees or unofficial data is a scam.
The commission has also noted that it is briefing law‑enforcement and cybercrime units to trace and prosecute those behind the fake job postings, warning that perpetrators may face severe legal consequences. The public was asked to report suspicious adverts or extortion attempts using NAICOM’s name to the commission’s official grievance desks or verified online contact channels.
