The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has begun removing 100,000 companies from its register for failing to file annual returns and other required documents. Announced in a public notice (Batch 6) under Section 692(3) and (4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, the CAC said the full list of affected firms is available on its website.
Affected companies have 90 days to file outstanding annual returns and update beneficial ownership (Persons with Significant Control) information, then send proof of compliance to struckoffcompanies@cac.gov.ng. The Commission warned that firms failing to comply within the deadline will be struck off without further notice and reiterated its commitment to efficient service. Business owners can verify listings at https://www.cac.gov.ng/news/6104 or the CAC homepage.
